Response of Soil Enzyme Activities to Natural Vegetation Restorations and Plantation Schemes in a Landslide-Prone Region

چکیده

Soil enzyme activities in different plantation types and land use patterns could indicate changes soil quality. This research was aimed at exploring the dynamics of involved carbon, nitrogen phosphorus cycling, their responses to physicochemical properties resulting from natural vegetation restorations schemes. Knowing about effects on is crucial for understanding ecosystem functions processes. The study selected four main land-use (natural forestland, grassland, artificial grassland) one control plot (bare land) West Qinling Mountains, China, which a typical landslide region. We collected samples each type tested compared with land. results showed that both restoration schemes have significant activities. explained 92.2% variation restoration, while it only 77.8% Furthermore, had greater effect than

Secondary Metabolite Contents and Antioxidant Enzyme Activities of Cichorium intybus Hairy Roots in Response to Zinc

Hairy root systems are formed by transforming plant tissues with the “natural genetic engineer” Agrobacterium rhizogenes. In most plants such as Cichorium intybus L., hairy root cultures have proven to be an efficient system for secondary metabolites production. The effect of Zinc (ZnSO4), a heavy metal, was investigated at different concentrations (0, 1, 5 and 10 mM) on some secondary metaboli...

Soil microbial communities and enzyme activities in sea-buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) plantation at different ages

The aim of this study was to assess the impact of forest age and season on the soil microbial community and enzyme activities in sea-buckthorn plantation system and to determine the relative contributions to soil microbial properties. Soil sampling was carried out in the dry season (April) and wet season (September) in four areas, including: abandoned farmland (NH), an 8-year- old plantation (y...

Vegetation and soil properties of a sandy desert affected by shrub (Haloxylon aphyllum) plantation and oil mulching

Planting shrub seedlings under oil mulches has frequently been used for stabilizing mobile sands in Iran for during the last three decades. Sandy desert of Samad Abad, Sarakhs, northeast Iran, has been fixed by cultivating seedling of Haloxylon aphyllum under the oil mulches. Therefore this study was designed to investigate the effects of the sand fixation project on soil and vegetation propert...
